Project #1- Event Styling: Wedding in Italy
The Wife contacted me for assistance finding a special dress, although she was unsure what options were available. She did not provide a specific budget, but I aimed to stay within what I would personally spend. After receiving her measurements and pictures, we discussed the look she wanted to achieve. Right away, I envisioned her in lemon yellow or sky blue flowy dress that would keep her cool.
I created a vision board featuring dresses of various styles and price points, which I then sent to her. I also included accessories, such as shoes and jewelry, with links to the items. I shared the board, encouraging her to browse it without pressure and see if anything resonated with her.
She responded promptly, expressing her enthusiasm for everything I had chosen. Ultimately, she decided to go with the Marigold dress from LuLu’s, and planned to order it that evening. She also mentioned that she would like me to style it using shoes and jewelry she already owns. Stay tuned for the results; our work on her event styling is unfinished!
The Husband mentioned that he had already purchased a suit but was unhappy with his choice. I took his measurements, including inseam, waist, height, weight, and neck width. Additionally, I asked him several essential questions: what sizes he typically buys for dress clothes, which materials he feels comfortable or uncomfortable in, and where he usually shops. I also inquired about his preferred price points and color preferences.
I created a vision board for him, similar to the one I made for his wife, and encouraged him to try a colored shirt. We also explored shoe options. He took pictures of his entire dress shoe collection but found nothing suitable for the occasion.
I explained that he might need to invest more in quality shoes and advised him to view this as an investment, which he agreed to. In the end, he ordered the lighter linen suit and decided to stick with a white shirt he owned. The suits are from J.Crew Factory and the shirts are from Macys. We are now waiting for his purchases to arrive to see how they fit.
